What is the cost of laser hair removal in Colorado Springs? If you’ve been researching this topic online, you have probably found that answering this question is quite frustrating! It is hard to get a definitive answer from practitioners and clinics, but gauging whether or not the cost is worth the benefits is a very important step in your decision-making process. Let’s take a look at costs you may encounter.

First, it is important to know that your cost will depend on:

· Your area. Colorado Springs clinics will typically offer lower prices than you’d see in bigger cities like Denver or Boulder.

· The specific clinic. Some clinics charge more than others. Part of this may be due to the level of experience and skill of their practitioners, but part may also be due to the part of town in which they are located.

· Again, the skill of the practitioner plays a central role in the cost. More training and experience drive prices higher.

· The area you want treated. Your back will cost you more than your upper lip, for instance, because it’s a bigger area and because it takes longer to treat. An upper lip can be treated in about a minute, while a back can take in excess of an hour or two.

· The number of sessions. You may need to go back only three times, or you may need to return for up to eight visits.

Here are some average prices so you can get an idea of what you will have to pay (per session):

· Chest: $150 to $450

· Back: $300 to $800

· Bikini area: $150 to $450

· Both legs (half) $250 to $650

· Underarms: $150 to $250

· Full face: $250 to $650

The price you pay, of course, is dependent upon your needs, as well as other factors. Many clinics offer free initial consultations. Take them up on this: get a consultation and then discuss how many sessions would be needed and how much each one will be. By that time, the practitioner should have an idea of how to approach your treatment.

The costs may seem very high, especially when you can try hair removal methods, like shaving, plucking, or waxing at home for very little money. Laser treatment is much more effective and long-lasting. Consider the results – and the time and money you’ll save by not shaving or waxing nearly as often – as you consider cost. Removing embarrassing hair is an investment in your self-confidence and happiness.

Colorado Springs – a beautiful city in the Pikes Peak area – is well-positioned in terms of economic power and growth. The city’s economy has been booming for the last 10 years, with the development of advanced-technology manufacturing, tourism, and business services.

The major portion of the city’s economy is contributed by the five military installations. According to statistics, there are around 14,100 military personnel and 10,847 civilian employees. This makes around one fifth of the city’s total workforce. Fort Carson – one of the five military installations – maintains more than 15,000 employees. The U.S. Air Force Academy, the North American Air Defense Command (NORAD), and Fort Peterson Air Force Base (AFB) also provide excellent job opportunities.

The Greater Colorado Springs chamber of Commerce has the highest number of job opportunities. More than 1,700 member businesses are available under the chamber, which employs around 90,000 employees. Greater Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation (EDC) – a privately funded non-profit organization – also creates great opportunities for potential candidates. It is estimated that the 14 EDC-assisted companies will be offering nearly 2,000 jobs in the next few years.

The rapid growth of the aerospace industry has spurred many high-tech technology firms to move to Colorado Springs. This has paved the way for many career opportunities. Hewlett-Packard Company – along with 17 other electronics companies – employs around 10,000 workers. Moreover, the U.S. Space Foundation (USSF) and the Space Commands at AFB have put forward many proposals for future space-related projects, which will greatly improve the current employment status of the city.

Today, Colorado Springs is one of the top tourist destinations in the U.S. In 1999, tourism accounted for nearly 5.2% of total employment. In the next two years, it grew at a rate of 2.7%. The hotel and casino industry also plays a vital role in providing quality employment opportunities.

Some of the major employers in Colorado Springs are Memorial Hospital, Penrose-St. Francis Health Services, Amtel and Intel (chip fabrication), Colorado Springs School District, and Schriever AFB.

Colorado Springs provides detailed information on Colorado Springs, Colorado Springs Real Estate, Colorado Springs Hotels, Colorado Springs Restaurants and more. Colorado Springs is affiliated with Boulder Colorado Homes for Sale.

Colorado Springs, Colorado is a beautiful, active city on the edge of the Rocky Mountains. With a wonderful assortment of activities and attractions, it’s sometimes tricky to choose what to do first. Here is a list of ten fun things to do in Colorado Springs.

10. Visit Mueller State Park

This State Park near Colorado Springs is an excellent introduction to the wildlife, flora and fauna in the area. With gorgeous views of Pikes Peak and several mountain ranges, Mueller State Park has some great campsites, and also offers 50 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and horseback riding. You might even see an elk or black bear.

9. Tour one of the Museums

If you love to learn on your vacation, visit one of Colorado Springs several unique museums. Some of the most popular include the Pioneers Museum, American Numismatic Association (money museum), Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, Fine Arts Center, Ghost Town Museum, US Figure Skating Hall of Fame, Peterson Air & Space Museum, and the Western Museum of Mining & Industry House.

8. Old Colorado City

This historic neighborhood gem on the West side of town is made up of four city blocks of shops and restaurants. Stroll the sidewalks, grab an ice cream cone, and sit under the trees at adjacent Bancroft Park. One of the favorite things to do in Colorado Springs for shoppers and eaters alike.

7. US Air Force Academy

Given Colorado Springs’ large military presence (Peterson Air Force Base, Schriever Air Force Base, NORAD, and Fort Carson) it’s a good experience to visit the US Air Force Academy. See where cadets are trained, walk through the beautiful Cadet Chapel, and learn more about the Academy at the Visitor’s Center.

6. US Olympic Training Center

One of only 3 campuses created by the United States Olympic Committee, the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs is located close to downtown. It is made up of two sports complexes, an aquatics center, an indoor shooting range, and a nearby velodrome. Admission is free, and visitors are always welcome.

5. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Literally located on the side of Cheyenne mountain, this unique zoo offers several exhibits that offer up-close and personal animal experiences. You can hand-feed a herd of giraffes in the African Rift Valley, or go nose-to-nose with a grizzly or gorilla in the new Rocky Mountain Wild exhibit. Great fun for just about everyone.

4. Seven Falls

If you love waterfalls, or simply enjoy breathtaking nature scenes, Seven Falls is a must-see. Features a 181-foot waterfall that cascades down seven steps of a solid cliff of Pikes Peak granite. The box canyon location itself is just as beautiful, and you can take a mountain elevator to the top of the “Eagle’s Nest” for a better view.

3. Cave of the Winds

Often referred to as a “geo-venture,” the Cave of the Winds gives you a spooky and strange caving experience you won’t forget. Winding through underground caverns, you will see all sorts of weird geological formations. Offers a special Lantern Tour for the brave-at-heart. One of the eeriest things to do in Colorado Springs.

2. Pikes Peak

The 14,400 foot mountain on the edge of town is hard to miss. And you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to get to the top. This is the mountain that inspired the lyric “purple mountain majesty” in the song “America the Beautiful.” You can drive your own car up the Pikes Peak Highway, or take the Pikes Peak Cog Railway and let the engineer take you to the summit. Breathe deep, the air is thin up there. And the views go on forever.

1. Garden of the Gods

If you can do only one thing while you’re in Colorado Springs, then you’re not sticking around long enough. But if time is tight, make sure you drive through this free city park on the west side of town. Made up of massive sandstone walls and rock formations, the Garden of the Gods is a geological wonder that needs to be seen to be believed. Drive, hike, bike, or ride a horse. Just visit this park. You will be glad you did.

Colorado Springs horse properties include horse ranches, equestrian farms, and homes. Equestrian farms are ideal for breeding and training horses. Horse ranches are especially suited for sportive buyers. For those who prefer a rural lifestyle, there are a fine number of horse properties in the majestic countryside. These properties – with abundant land and great views – are truly an escape from the fast-paced city life. You can also find some outstanding horse properties inside the city. Some of the Colorado Springs horse properties are available for rent or lease.

By Tod Vandewalker

If there is a Shangri-la this is it. There are few places on earth that compare to Ouray. It is an insolated gem that remains unknown to many tourist and residents alike.

Hidden deep in the remote San Juan Mountains of Southwestern Colorado, The natural hot springs have been beckoning people for centuries. The Ute Indians made their summer camps beside the bubbling hot springs on the banks of the Uncomphragre River.

They believed that this special valley of the hot springs had “big medicine”. It does. The hot spring will wash away your worries and rejuvenated you spirits. Soaking in the mineral waters and watching the clouds drift over the alpine peaks, is a relaxing way to take in the Colorado Rockies.

Ouray Colorado is a special place. The novelist, Ayn Rand, thought that it was so special that she used Ouray as a setting for her utopian city of Galt’s Gulch in the novel, Atlas Shrugged.

This little Victorian Village is scattered with many natural hot springs seeping out of the nearby mountains. One is even located in a cave. Many of the lodges in town offer accommodations featuring use of their private hot springs. Many have multiple hot tubs and others have pools and some have both. It is a soaker’s paradise.

Ouray is blessed with beauty. It is called “The Switzerland of the Rockies”. On all sides of the village, great mountains rise 2000 feet above the valley floor. The snowcapped peaks that ring the village are outlined against the blue skies. Words can not describe it and cameras are in adequate too. It is just spectacular.

Like all alpine villages it has a myriad of outdoor activities. You can do the normal stuff like: hiking, jeeping, exploring ghost towns, rafting wild rivers, as well as, taking pictures of alpine meadows full wildflowers and waterfalls. But Ouray has something new and different. It has the world’s first ice climbing park.

This tiny little town does not hibernate in the winter any longer. Each year thousands of ice climbers come to Ouray to climb the artificial ice known as “hero ice” created by the “Ouray Ice Farmers”. It is quite a festival.

But the town’s Hot Springs Pool remains the major attraction for Ouray. The pool has been completely remodeled, updated and expanded. It is now 250 feet by 150 feet with a warm section for soaking and a cooler section for laps. The temperature varies from 70 to 104 F. Soaking in the pool is the best way I know for recuperating from an active day in the mountains.

If you are a romantic, you can tour this Victorian town in an old western stagecoach, or perhaps, you prefer a white horse-drawn carriage. The local livery stable has both.

The pool brings visitors from all over, but you will only feel like a stranger in town for a few minutes. The locals are laid-back and very friendly. It seems that there is a slower pace here, very relaxing. They say “howdy” will a smile, in that unique western way.

Ouray and The Hot Springs Pool is a popular year-round getaway for Western Colorado residents. But it is still an insolated gem, that remains unknown to many tourist and residents alike.

Ouray may not actually be Shangri-la, but it looks it, and feels like it and it has that mystical charm.

With the success of the Harry Potter sequels, kids, teens and adults alike will have one more thing in common to look forward to. Celebrate Halloween with a Harry Potter Masquerade Party. You can easily create an invitation on parchment paper at home. Draw a map to your house in invisible ink and call it the Marauder’s Map and roll it up with a brightly colored ribbon like a scroll and hand out to all your invited friends. Make sure you include instructions on how to decipher your secret map.

Since the series is full of varied characters, your guests would not have any trouble picking out their favorite. Encourage all your guests to come dressed up as their favorite Harry Potter character. Dress up you house to look like Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Magickry. On top of your doorway, place a “Platform Nine and Three Quarters” sign and amaze your guests as they walk in to your magically transformed house. Line your halls with hollowed out pumpkins with brightly lit candles to give an eerie sense of the Great Hall of Hogwarts. Hang paper or plastic bats and owls from the ceiling and strategically place stuffed cats, rats and toads on every corner of the rooms.

Create your own Sorting Hat out of old and tattered felt paper and put it in the center of your buffet table to serve as the centerpiece. Sprinkle it with lots of glitter and stars to make it even more magical. You can even hide a small audio tape player underneath the hat to give it that “Talking and Singing” impression. Spray-paint several small plastic Ping-Pong balls with gold paint, and glue golden feathers to each side to form wings and hang them above the table. Glue glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceilings to make it appear as though bewitched. Line your walls with inexpensive framed portraits and lightning bolts.

Transform your yard into a safe Quidditch Field using basketball hoops and non-flying brooms. Place a large jar of jelly beans on one table and have your guests guess the number of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans, making sure the winner gets to take the jar home. If you can, have an adult dress as a wizard and have him perform magic tricks. Group your guests according to age as appropriate, and have them battle it out in the Great Harry Potter Trivia Fest.

Serve popcorn in cauldrons and flavor them in magical herb toppings, pumpkin soup and potato salad served in hollowed out pumpkin, crescent rolls and don’t forget the deliciously hot apple cider! Cinnamon buns or apple pie would sure be everyone’s favorite treat and I’m sure not even Harry potter himself can say no to a heaping help of ice cream on top of a generous square of brownie.

Make sure you hand out plastic fiber optic wands and magic stones as party favors before your guests leave for home. Give the smaller kids chocolate coin candies and blowing bubbles as well, to make this their most special Halloween party ever. Click here for more Halloween Party Ideas.

This party theme is centered on the color of pumpkins in season, which is orange. To make party planning virtually hassle-free, you may choose to buy ready-made party invitations with pumpkin décor at you local arts n crafts store. Or you may opt to make your own, using an orange felt-tipped marker to write your information on the invitation in keeping with the orange theme, and pumpkin stickers or draw your own directly onto the card.

Ask everyone to dress in orange, or you can ask him or her to come dressed as pumpkins. You may suggest other orange-themed costumes to keep variety and surprise in your nifty little party. After all, you wouldn’t want a roomful of pumpkin people bearing down at your doorway on Halloween night. Using an orange trash bag, you could suggest they come as a bag or autumn leaves, or maybe a carrot costume. How about covering themselves in Orange balloons and be a handful of orange M&M’s. One costume idea is to come as the Headless Horseman, using a pumpkin as a “head”. Or ask them to simply come as an orange fruit.

Establish the foundation for a memorable Halloween party by decorating the area leading up to your front door with the usual Halloween funfair and all the pertinent Halloween decorations befitting the occasion. You don’t have to make the setting too scary, after all what would a Halloween party be without a little fun and frolic?

For an unexpected twist, you could make your own “Decomposing” Pumpkin décor. You will need to carve out one hefty-sized pumpkin in the desired face pattern. Dip a paintbrush or toothbrush in some black paint or food coloring and splatter it along the pumpkin, both inside and out. Repeat the same process with a green paint or food coloring making sure the pumpkin achieves a moldy greenish appearance. Let the color air-dry and for a final touch, place gummy worms in and around the pumpkin.

Make sure some look like they’re “crawling” out around the openings to make it more gross and rotting. Stick to predominantly orange and black color scheme. Ornamentation such as banners and balloons should be strategically scattered around the area to complement the holiday theme. Whatever decorations you may choose to go with, make sure they’re simple, disposable, and safe.

Food is an important part of any party. If you are inviting a variety of different people have several different types of food so no ones goes hungry. When you set up your serving table, prepare it so guests can eat buffet style. Cover your furniture with a Halloween-themed cloth, and put a pumpkin centerpiece in the middle of the table. Turning simple party food into ghoulish culinary delights will surprise and please your guests. Remember, the food is part of your overall presentation.

While games and activities are always fun to play at parties, you should space them out accordingly. You should have a couple of ice-breakers first if your guests don’t know each other. Any game where you can break people off into teams will help to get everyone talking. Pumpkin carving contests are always a good idea, and make sure you have lots of prizes to spare.

Try a post Nuclear war party, complete with bombed out decor. Halloween is a party in itself, with millions across the nation throwing their own party shindig, you need to have your guests look forward to a night of something a little more different. Vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein’s are for copycats. Make your party stand out from the crowd by being original. Your guests will love to dress up as something different.

You can make your invitations out of paper scavenged from burned out buildings, or so it would seem. All you will need are index card-sized paper, a candle and a felt tipped marker. Scorch all four sides of the paper with the flame of the candle, taking extra care not to burn you fingers. Have a small bowl of water handy to extinguish the flame if it gets too big. After completely scorching the paper, write the details of the party and make sure to specify details about the costume requirements.

Keep your decorations simple and hassle-free. You can litter your front lawn with junk metal and other scrap parts from your local junk shop. One money-saving tip is to borrow these items. Just be sure to return the scrap metal items as soon as you are done with them. Choose items with a lot of blackened soot to make it more realistic. Throw a stack of papers in the middle of your yard. Let them land where they may. The goal here is to try to make your yard look like something exploded there. Post a Restricted Area sign on your lawn and make it as official looking as possible.

Hang a sign above your front door that says Fallout Shelter in big bold yellow letters with a radioactive symbol right above it. Line your walls with plain GI sheets. You want to aim for that nuclear bunker look. Put all your furniture aside, except for a few chairs and a table. Remember, not too many things would have survived a nuclear bomb. Hang a number of gas masks everywhere. You don’t have to buy expensive masks, toy masks and novelty items will do. If you can get your hands on one, hang a radioactive protection suit, or make one yourself if you’re handy with a sewing machine.

Replace all your light bulbs with black lights. Hand out fluorescent markers to everyone along with little glow sticks. Encourage them to write everywhere, on the walls, themselves, and watch as the black light does its work. Instant coolness all around!

Ask your guests to come as nuclear holocaust survivors. Maybe a few would have mutated and grew an extra arm on their forehead. Give them suggestions to get their creative juices flowing. Burned clothing is a must. You could also choose to add a little pizzazz to your costume. Try a latex mask to make yourself look like a burned victim. There is a wide variety to choose from in specialty stores.

Post a sign on your table setting that says, “Survival Supplies”. But just because its post nuclear doesn’t mean you should scrimp on the goodies. Bring out all the food galore your guests can eat. After all, those survivors must be hungry. Click here for more Halloween Party Ideas.

What would you do if the Titanic came back? More specifically, what would you look like if you came back from the watery depths of the Titanic’s graveyard? Have the man of the house dress up as the Captain of the Titanic. Hang a Welcome Aboard the Titanic sign above your front door. You can wear any elegant evening dress, and have you watery make-up smudged like you’ve been underwater for ages.

Hand out invitation cards made to look like Titanic boarding tickets. You could download a photo from the Internet or you could simply make up one of your own. Be sure to include the year 1912 and “TITANIC”.

If you have stairs leading up to your front door, try installing a gangplank instead. Make sure they are on firmly with enough support on both ends to prevent accidents. Have Titanic ticket master stand by your door to check tickets. Have him wear a bellboy’s costume reminiscent of the era with a not-too-happy-to-be-back-from-the-dead look on his face.

For your décor, transform your party space into the inside of the titanic but with a twist. For this, you will need to lay a moisture retention sheet on the floor to catch any wayward moisture. Hang cheap watercolor portraits, but douse them in water for that fished out of the ocean finish. Put up soaked banners and soggy streamers on ceilings; don’t worry if the color runs, that’s part of the charm! A few well placed plastic kelp or seaweed would do wonders for the watery ambiance.

Have your guests play lots of exciting games. Card games would have been the norm on board the Titanic. Have the children play a game of First to the Lifeboats. Arrange chairs around a circle and have the same number of children plus one, to participate in the game. Have them walk around the circle of chairs to the beat of some music. When the music stops, the children must find a seat. The last child standing will have to leave the game. Repeat the procedure until there is only one chair and one winner left.

Play music that would have been played on board the titanic. You can download a song list from the Internet, or just browse through some of your grandmother’s old records from that era. Line your walls with a few life-preservers; you can easily make one out of cheap Styrofoam.

Bring out your finest china for dinner; after all, wouldn’t you have wanted the best for your last trip on earth? Spread out a few Titanic relics around the room and on your table. You can borrow your grandparents’ old traveling bag, for example, or put your cherished grandfather’s glasses or a pair of your neighbor’s borrowed old shoes on display. You can even scour flea markets for great but cheap antique finds.

For your table centerpiece, a chunk of iceberg sculptor would do the trick. Line the table with more seaweed, plastic kelp, perhaps an old fished out watery glove or sock. Aim for the washed-on-shore look for your presentation.

For trick or treaters, hand out octopus gummy candy or Fish Snax. And be sure to include lots of seafood on your menu! Click here for more Halloween Party Ideas.
